I was born in Tanzania, went to school in the UK and, after studying at Manchester University, moved to Bremen, Germany. My husband's job took us to Berlin for five years, then to Baden-Württemberg, followed by 8 years in Greece and Indonesia before we returned to Stuttgart in 2001. I know what it feels like to try to establish, maintain, and grow a sense of self when you don't speak the language, feel isolated and need to adapt to a different culture. As a clinical nurse, Business English Trainer, Life and Language Coach, and Mother, I have come to recognise that most of the time, we can actively decide how to respond to the situations in which we find ourselves.
“Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make, makes you.” —John C. Maxwell.
As a recreational scuba diver, I also know how much of the action happens underwater, out of sight. It is easy to forget that there is a whole world waiting to be explored. below the surface. All we have to do is choose to take the plunge and dive in.
Coaching can be understood as a supportive partnership which helps you to do what the brain can find hard to do naturally, take that plunge to see what is happening below the surface of your life.
